Ethereum developers of the second level Optimism postponed the launch of the main network

The Optimism project, which is behind the development of an Ethereum L2 Optimistic Ethereum (OΞ) solution, canceled a mainnet launch in March.

According to the developers, the initial contract deployment schedule was unworkable and caught many projects by surprise.

“An uncoordinated breakthrough in L2 without sufficient community preparation is dangerous,” reads the blog post.

The team said the mainnet launch is expected to take place in July. The final date depends on the stability and readiness of the ecosystem.

Optimism develops a solution based on Rollups… Messari analysts believe the technology will maintain Ethereum’s edge as it moves to ETH2, despite promising alternatives emerging.

In February, venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz led the $ 25 million Optimism funding round .

The synthetic asset platform Synthetix has previously pre-launched OΞ .

Recall that in March, the developers of the non-custodial exchange Uniswap promised to implement the second level Optimism solution for scaling shortly after the release of the third version of the protocol.
