Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vyacheslav Makarov said that he had never owned bitcoins and believes that cryptocurrency is not “the people’s currency”, writes “Fontanka” .
“Digital currency is an asset for those who are well versed in this and who are professionally involved in it. I’ve never had this, and I’m sure I never will, ”he said.
During a meeting on Wednesday, March 17, the deputies adopted as a basis a bill obliging officials and deputies to report on the availability of cryptocurrencies.

The media also reported that the Ministry of Labor has prepared a bill on the compulsory declaration of transactions with CFA and digital currencies for candidates for elective positions.
