It became known who acquired NFT from Beeple for almost $ 70 million

The non-fungible token of the artist Mike Winckelmann, known under the pseudonym Beeple, was bought for $ 69.3 million by the founder of the Metapurse NFT foundation under the pseudonym Metakovan (real identity is not disclosed).

With this amazing vote of confidence, @MetaKovan has helped usher in the next chapter in art history. I could not be more thankful for not just his belief in my work, but also more importantly, digital art.  https://t.co/gJMu41C1Dx

“Metakovan helped open a new chapter in art history. I am extremely grateful to him not only for the appreciation of my work, but more importantly, for the digital art, ”wrote Beeple.

Tron founder Justin Sun revealed that he took part in this auction, but he did not manage to acquire NFT.

Everydays: The First 5000 Days went under the hammer for $ 69.3 million at Christie’s. The final bid was $ 60.3 million, but fees were also included in the price. The auction house noted that this made Winckelmann one of the most valuable artists living today.

Everydays: The First 5000 Days is a collage of thousands of Winckelmann’s works published online since 2007. The auction was announced on February 16.

At the end of February, Beeple’s Trump NFT token was resold for $ 6.6 million . In December 2020, the artist bailed out $ 582,000 for Crossroad.

In March, Twitter creator Jack Dorsey put up his first NFT tweet for sale. At the time of writing, the maximum bid has reached $ 2.5 million. Dorsey has pledged to donate the proceeds to charity.

As a reminder, an NFT copy of Banksy’s burnt painting “Morons” went under the hammer for 228.69 ETH .
