MOYO store speculates who could mine Ethereum on their laptops

The Kiev electronics store MOYO, caught in mining, did not rule out that the program for mining Ethereum cryptocurrency on laptops could be launched by visitors. This is reported by local media.

Representatives of the trading network confirmed the information that several display cases of ASUS ROG mined cryptocurrency. However, an internal investigation into the situation has not yet been completed.

“The Department of Homeland Security continues its investigation to identify everyone involved in the incident,” said Anastasia Kulichenko, PR manager of MOYO.

The retailer was asked to keep a close eye on the technology, as “unscrupulous cryptocurrency hunters may be trying to install similar software in stores of other retail chains.”

Whether MOYO employees themselves are involved in this situation is still unknown.

According to Kulichenko, all laptops with mining software were sent to the manufacturer’s service center. Specialists will conduct a full examination of the technical condition of the devices and restore the factory software.

After that, by the joint decision of MOYO and ASUS, the laptops will be placed in the demo gaming area of the Dream Town mall.

Earlier, Hodlmonks reported that one of the visitors to the MOYO store discovered that a program for the extraction of Ethereum cryptocurrency was launched on several display samples of gaming laptops .
