NiuLian Technology, a subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed company The9 Ltd, has purchased Bitcoin miners for the second time from MicroBT. This allowed us to increase the total hashrate of the company’s equipment by 40 PH / s.
The second batch consists of 482 WhatsMiner M31S + devices.
The hash rate of each of the ASIC miners is approximately 80-86 TH / s with a power consumption of 3360 to 3520 watts.
The9 and MicroBT signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in February this year. In total, The9 will buy 5,000 WhatsMiner ASIC miners over the course of the year.
As a reminder, in January 2021, The9 announced its entry into the cryptocurrency mining industry . Within two days of the announcement, its shares soared 140%. In the same month, the company acquired 26,007 bitcoin miners .
In March, The9 entered into an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 24,000 bitcoin miners of the Antminer S19j model . Deliveries will begin in November 2021.
